Airport Viracopos

Brazil, South America’s largest country, has several airports of different sizes. Viracopos, an international airport in Campinas, is the airfreight centre with the largest surface in South America. Due to the steadily increasing passenger volume – today more than 50 destinations can be reached – the airport was expanded in 2014.

Modern heating and cooling systems were installed during the expansion to ensure an optimum climate for the passengers. A total of 460 “Cocon Q” valves of different sizes (DN 15 up to DN 125) were installed for an efficient and sustainable operation. The objective was to adjust the flow rate dynamically and directly at the heating or cooling appliance (locally) so that an efficient and constant use of energy is guaranteed. Furthermore, 30 double regulating and commissioning valves “Hydrocontrol” sized DN 250 and DN 300 were installed.

Cocon Q” and electromotive actuators “Aktor M

For an optimum setting of the volume flows in the heating and cooling systems to full and partial load operation, different electromotive actuators “Aktor M” combined with “Cocon Q” valves were installed. Amongst others, these actuators can be used in combination with the “Cocon Q” valves for quick switching operations in heating and cooling systems and for quick two point control circuits, such as fan convectors, induction air appliances, small post-heaters and chillers. The actuator distinguishes itself by a short operating time and thus a quick adjustment to the operating conditions. The actuators “Aktor M type 2P” and “Aktor M type 3P” were installed in the object. Both actuators are available with 230 V or 24 V connection.

Optimum regulation with double regulating and commissioning valves “Hydrocontrol

With the double regulating and commissioning valves “Hydrocontrol”, Oventrop offers further solutions complying with the specifications of the VOB DIN 18380. Hydronic balancing is an important factor for the operation of an efficient system. The calculated volume flow or pressure loss can be set precisely for each individual riser in the building. However, the valve with flanged or threaded connection offers more than this: The following five functions can be covered with it: Presetting, measuring, isolating, filling and draining. The valve can be installed in either the supply or the return pipe.
