Gendarmenmarkt, Berlin

“Berlin is always worth a trip” says a proverb. If you want to experience not only accomodation but also an imposing building in the middle of the metropolis, the Titanic Hotel on Gendarmenmarkt is just the place for you. Guests can expect an inspring combination of classical elements and playful modern decoration. A total of 208 rooms and suites as well as a luxurious 1,000 m² sports and spa area offer security and relaxation.

The hotel was mostly newly built from 2014 to March 2015. Until then, it has been used as a stage house for the State Opera. The walls from the 19th century had to be left in their original architecture for reasons of monument protection. In the course of the new construction behind the façade, a completely new building technology was installed in the large building.

A comfortable climate with Cofloor surface heating systems

The hotel is heated by means of a wall and underfloor heating. Around 1,600 m² of Cofloor drywall construction elements made of EPS were installed in the walls. Base mat rolls with a thickness of 35-3 mm were laid on the floor. On the approx. 3,000 m², 18,000 m of 16 x 2 mm PE-Xc Copex plastic pipe was used to ensure even heat transfer. In total, the installers laid 14 heating circuits in the luxury resort, which are supplied specifically via a distributor/collector. The hydronic balancing is realised by using Cocon QTZ pressure indepedent control valves.

Regumat F-180 boiler connection systems ensure constant flow temperatures in all heating circuits. An electric pipe contact sensor serves as safety device for the installed surface heating sytems. The circulation pump switches off automatically when the set temperature is exceeded and switches on again when the temperature drops.

Potable water comfort through Aquastrom valves

Through an installation with circulation pipes, pleasantly warm water is permanetly available to the hotel guests at every point of consumption within a short time. Circulation is an effective means of avoiding stagation in accordance with the mandatory legal hygiene regulations and providing potable water at the prescribed minimum temperature.

Aquastrom VT thermostatic valves keep the temperatures in the system constant and hydraulically balance the circulation pipes in the hotel among each other.
