Pure luxury in the Las Vegas of the East

Macau was a Portuguese colony until 1999. Then the 30 km² peninsula not far from Hong Kong became a special administrative zone of the People's Republic of China and the Far Eastern equivalent of Las Vegas and Monte Carlo. Its "Cotai Strip", a 5.2 km² piece of newly won land, boasts numerous hotel-casinos of the absolute luxury class, including the Wynn Palace Hotel, built by US casino billionaire Steve Wynn.

The Wynn Palace is not the largest hotel in Macau, but with an investment volume of 4.1 billion US Dollars, it is considered the most expensive private property. The 39,000 m² casino are is surrounded by 9,800 m² of luxury stores. 1,706 rooms and suites ranging in size from 68 m² to 105 m² are opulent, floral, designed in the Chinoiserie style. Boardrooms, conference rooms and a ballroom for 1,200 people provide space and a stage for international events and meeting. East meets West in 11 restaurants, various patisseries and bars. Macau's largest spa provides pure relaxation and a cable car circles the “Performance” lake in front of the complex, where a show with fire, fountains and music is shown every half hour.

Thousands of business travellers and tourists visit Wynn Palace every day, entering a climatic sanctuary. Even in the humid, 30 °C hot summer months when the monsoon blows very unpleasantly. This is ensured by a sophisticated system of heating and cooling installations, in which Oventrop premium fittings and systems take care of hydronic balancing.

Hydronic balancing XXL

More than 2,000 Oventrop Cocon QTZ pressure independent control valves keep the flow rate required for room temperature control at the respective consumer constant - independent of load-related differential pressure fluctuations in the system hydraulics. In addition, 500 Oventrop HydroControl VTR double regulating and commissioning valves are used in various sections of the building. Here, they ensure the balance of the risers among each other.

The complex system was balanced using the Oventrop OV-DMC 2 differential pressure measuring computer. Its advantage: The characteristic lines of all Oventrop balancing valves are stored in the device. For example, after entering the nominal valve size and the presetting, the flow rate is displayed. If no preset value has been calculated, the OV-DMC 2 can calculate it. Collected data is stored in the device. Quality made in Germany.
