Estate of terraced houses "Lister Blick"

The investor Grundlach Bau from Hanover implemented an estate of terraced house with 49 properties in Vahrenwald-List. The area, called "Lister Blick", is located directly at the Mittelland Canal and offers both good opportunities for recreation and leisure activities as well as an infrastructure with numerous shopping facilities. This makes the new housing estate the ideal place for a family-friendly overall concept. The individual terraced houses each comprise 125 m² of living space, distributed over three floors. In order to offer the future residents not only comfort but also efficiency, the investor decided to use a modern potable water and heating supply system from Oventrop in addition to a construction method in accordance with the latest Energy Saving Ordinance (EnEV 2016).

Local supply

The energy for heating and hot water is provided by a district heating network. The consultants consider this to be an efficient and at the same time easy way to use resources sparingly. Transfer to the individual houses is carried out by the dwelling stations from the Regudis W-HTF range of the manufacturer Oventrop. All important connections are located in the station so that the pipes can be brought together centrally: a supply and return connection for the central heat supply, a supply and return connection for the heating circuit of the dwelling and a connection for potable water (cold, hot and the circulation). In addition, built-in spacers allows for the installation of meters for heat and water consumption. The series Regudis W-HTF also features a mixed heating circuit. This ensures a heating circuit flow temperature between 20 °C and 50 °C with a thermostatic control. This means that different heating systems, such as a surface heating and radiators, can be operated in the property, regardless of the system temperature in the primary circuit. The flow temperature for the various consumers is regulated by the dwelling station. The energy supplied by the district heating network is temporarily stored in a heating centre on the site. It houses three buffer storage cylinders with a volume of 1,500 litres each. In order to ensure the house supply from there, three Oventrop pump groups of the type Regumat S-280 in the dimension DN 50 have been installed. The unit forms the link between the heat generator (in this case the buffer storage cylinder) and the heating system. All necessary components are already mounted in the pump group ready for connection. These include a shutoff ball valve for the supply pipe with thermometer and drain/flush valve, a shutoff ball valve for the return pipe with integrated check valve, thermometer and drain/flush valve, a pump ball valve with drain/flush valve, a return pipe and a universal thermal insulation.

Optimised flow control

Another plus point in terms of efficiency is provided by the Hydrocontrol double regulating and commissioning valves, which realise an optimum volume flow supply to the system. After all, hydronic balancing is an important factor when it comes to operating an efficient system. The calculated volume flow or pressure drop could be centrally pre-regulated and precisely set for each riser.
