wibutler shall become industry standard for digital building services engineering

Oventrop is a founding member of the newly founded wibutleralliance e. V. based in Münster, which focuses on the topics of Smart Home and Smart Building.

The aim of the association is to develop the manufacturer-open IoT platform wibutler into the industry standard for digital building services engineering. The partner companies from the SHK and electrical sectors would like to cooperate even more closely in the future in terms of technology. Building desginers, installers and end users in particular will benefit from this – through extensive application possibilities for more energy efficiency, security and comfort.

The founding members of the association include Oventrop and five other long-standing wibutler partners as well as Busch-Jaeger Elektro GmbH as a new strong partner. In addition to the exchange of experience and information and the transfer of technology in the field of digital building technology and automation, joint events, workshops and network meetings are also planned.

Smart system – the wibutler platform

Using the wibutler platform, a wide variety of devices are to be networked into a smart overall system – open to manufacturers, future-proof and product-independent. These include energy management, lighting, shading, ventilation, leakage protection or safety applications.

Oventrop is currently using the wibutler platform in the field of heating optimisation and control and is contributing pioneering products for automatic hydronic balancing. The wibutler platform enables easy commissioning and use of all networked devices in residential buildings of all types, scalable from single-family homes to residential districts. Already 28 industrial partners use the wibutler platform to connect their different products.
