Hydronic balancing of heating systems

In heating systems which are not balanced hydraulically, radiators installed at a remote location of the heating pump are not sufficiently supplied with hot water whereas radiators near the pump are oversupplied. This does not only mean energy wastage and increased heating costs but the living comfort is influenced, too.

Hydronic balance is defined as the optimum water distribution in a heating or cooling system ensuring the required volume flow via e.g. the radiator, for instance by use of presettable thermostatic radiator valves (TRV's) and balancing valves. All components like radiators, thermostatic valves, pumps, pipes and balancing valves are thus coordinated and aligned by the hydronic balance.

Without hydronic balancing
